First Crocus

The first crocus of spring has bloomed.

I believe this is a Crocus tommasinianus. I planted a bunch of them on either side of the path that runs along the side of my shed. The normal first crocus next to the shed door and near the foundation in the front of my house are still merely foliage.

That picture is a great blend of fall and spring. Two times when a gardener is the busiest.
