A Gardening Year

The adventures and misadventures of an heirloom gardener

An Ending and A Beginning

I can’t believe that it is September already. The entire summer has gone by and I haven’t written a thing. At least not here. I haven’t done much gardening either but that’s another topic. I have, though, been practicing with my new camera.

I tried to write gardening posts, but the screen remained stubbornly blank. The cursor blinked at me, mesmerizing me. Scrolling through my pictures did not result in any inspiration. Cataloguing each new blossom seemed tedious. Blogging about my garden had become a chore; something I no longer enjoyed.

It is time to move on. I considered keeping this blog, just moving it in a new direction, but that also seemed too difficult. Too many changes would have to be made. Too many explanations would have to be given. And I like this blog as it is or was. It served an important purpose in my life.

In the end, I decided on a fresh start. I’ve created a new blog, A Photographer’s Garden that incorporates more of my photography and allows me to go off-topic, something that I never felt comfortable doing here. The new blog is not a garden blog. It’s not a photography blog. It’s not a personal diary. Rather, it is a combination of all three.

I hope that you will join me over at A Photographer’s Garden.

I've been trying to get a gardening blog going too, but gardening is so much more fun than writing! But just keep at it.

I didn't spend a whole lot of time on my hobby blogs this summer, I spent more time actually doing and enjoying those hobbies. I can write about them all winter while I am curled up by the fire.

This was the most active summer I have had since my heart attack in 2004 and did all kinds of things.

I have been learning more about photography as well. Over the years I gave up on taking pictures because I shake all the time, well not as much since I had my heart attack, not sure but enough that i decided to buy a digital camera and start taking some pictures.

I am getting better at it but still shake a bit too much to get really clear images without a tripod.

I guess I will be doing some more posting over the winter months and even use some of my own images for a change.

I was looking at your photographer's garden blog and love the images.

Same here, as I think you know. I've always enjoyed your photographs so will pop over now and then to see your latest.

Now, if only I can get out of this USA election obsession, I can give my other blog more variety....not long now and will be thinking of you all on the day while watching it on t.v.

雙眼皮手術一定要找整形外科醫師,電波拉皮拉皮手術哪一個效果較佳。植牙除了選擇醫師之外專業性之外,當然就要比較人工植牙價格囉!

I have my own garden blog and I actually find the writing spurs me on in the garden. It lets you keep a timeline of what you have done and it makes me really proud to be able to show off what I have grown in my garden.

I have to agree that gardening is much more fun that writing sometimes but if you didn't post blogs how would we benefit for it? Lol keep it up. Photography is so interesting.

Are you a photographer? Or just interested in the art of it? I love taking pics but I can't seem to take them well enough to be good at it.

Garden enthusiasts and avid gardeners both have a knack for plants and green. But there's a certain amount of peace that comes with gardening and watching plants you've nurtured and grown start to produce and bloom for sure.

At 8:06 PM, Anonymous Perennials For Sale said...

I totally agree. You must have the love of plants to enjoy working in them. I disgusts me to hang a plant on the porch simply because I must water it :( what a drag....
